چکیده

In recent years multigrid methods have been proven to be very e cient for solving large systems of linear equations resulting from the discretization of positive de nite di erential equations by either the nite di erence method or the h-version of the nite element method. In this paper an iterative method of the multiple level type is proposed for solving systems of algebraic equations which arise from the p-version of the nite element analysis applied to inde nite problems. A two-level V -cycle algorithm has been implemented and studied with Gauss-Seidel iterative scheme used as a smoother. The convergence of the method has been investigated, and numerical results for a number of numerical examples are presented. 3

Current Distribution and Nonlinearity of Open-Ends and Gaps in Superconducting Microstrip Structures

Superconducting devices are known to produce nonlinear effects. In planar structures, these nonlinearities depend on the current distribution on the strip, which definitely depends on the structure of device. This paper used a numerical method based on 3D-FEM to obtain the current distribution in the open-ends and gaps in the superconducting microstrip structures. This is used to present the no...

2-dimensional Finite Elemental Modeling of Microwve Heating (fem) of a Coal Sample; to Determine Temperature Rise with Time at a Certain Power Density

A two dimensional finite element model (FEM) was developed to Predict the temperature distribution in coal particles with the aid of microwave heating. However, transient temperature profile for coal particles of high dielectric loss factor is obtained when exposed to microwave radiation. The heat equation and Maxwell’s equation are simultaneously solved using the finite element method to predi...
